Harvest for Hope 5k Walk/Run
Walk, run, skip or jump! Bring your kids, your neighbors or your dog to Riverfront Park on Saturday, October 2 at 5 pm for the Fourth Annual Harvest for Hope 5k Walk/Run. Harvest for Hope is a community event designed to bring hope to those who struggle to feed their families.
It is hard to believe, but in our own community many people go to bed hungry at night. The Harvest for Hope 5k brings our community together to supply many families with the food they desperately need.
Participants walking or running this event do not pay an entry fee—we just ask that they bring a bag of non-perishable food that is donated to Catalina Community Services (CCS) and distributed to needy families. All participants will receive a finisher’s medal and the first 500 people to register will receive a t-shirt and be entered in to a raffle held immediately following the 5k.
Last year we raised 7,000 lbs of food and through the generosity of our sponsors we provided a cash donation of $1,800 to CCS. This year, we’d like to double the food donation.
